HELIX TRIO

In November 2024, the Helix Trio was named Emerging Ensemble 2025 by FestClásica, thus ensuring its presence in relevant Spanish festivals. It was also a runner-up at the BBVA Montserrat Alavedra Award and received the Filippo Nicosia Award in Italy, which joined other rewards such as the ORPHEUS Swiss Chamber Music Competition 2022 and the La Flama 2023 Competition in Barcelona.

Established in 2022 at the Hochschule für Musik FHNW Basel, it’s made up of Jaume Angelès Fité (violin), Iago Domínguez Eiras (cello) and Paula Belzunegui Moreno (piano). Anton Kernjak, Claudio Martínez-Mehner, Silvia Simionescu, and Rainer Schmidt, among others, sharpen their tuition. Since 2023, they have been members of the ECMA (European Chamber Music Academy) and the Le Dimore del Quartetto network, providing them with international opportunities.

They have performed at festivals such as the Piano Trio Fest (Bern), the Swiss Chamber Music Festival, and Musikdorf Ernen, and they made their debut at the Palau de la Música Catalana in 2023. During the 2024-2025 season, they will perform at the Auditori de Barcelona and other European stages.

The trio has been trained by musicians such as Steven Isserlis, Patricia Kopatchinskaja, Heime Müller, Johannes Meissl and Heinz Holliger. They have also participated in the IMS Prussia Cove Masterclasses with Dénes Várjon and the Vic International Chamber Music Academy with Abel Tomàs (Quartet Casals).
