GALDÓS ENSEMBLE

Founded by pianist Iván Martín, the Galdós Ensemble is a band of musicians with a national and international career focused on playing music for small orchestras or instrumental ensembles, ranging from the Baroque to the present day. Their approach respects both historicist performance and the romantic and contemporary repertoire, adapting their line-up to each program.

Their proposals are always received with enthusiasm. Among them, we ought to mention the opera El Telèfon by Menotti in Bilbao and Peralada, which obtained excellent reviews and endorsements in national awards, or Café de Chinitas, which recreates the meeting between Manuel de Falla and Federico García Lorca, including their Canciones Populares Españolas arranged by Iván Martín.

Since their recording debut with Warner Music in 2011, hailed by critics pointing out they are a benchmark in their genre, they have performed at festivals including Musika-Música in Bilbao, Chopin Festival in Valldemossa, Peralada International Festival, CNDM, Canary Islands International Music Festival, and Juan March Foundation, and have been established as one of the bands with the greatest projection in the national musical scene. Upcoming projects will include performances in Spain, China, Mexico, Germany, and Italy.
